Questions About The Corry House and Its Facilities
Where is The Corry House located? Are there hotels nearby?
The Corry House is located in Union Point; a city in Greene, County Georgia. The Corry House is approximately 12 miles from Lake Oconee, a popular location for water sports, golf, and luxurious lodging for your guests.
What is the maximum number of guests The Corry House can accommodate?
Inside, The Corry House can accommodate approximately 25-30 people seated and 50-60 people mingling. The barn will hold approximately 200 people for your ceremony or reception. The Corry House grounds can accommodate unlimited individuals to share in your special event!
How often do you clean your facility?
The Corry House is thoroughly cleaned after every wedding and/or event. The Corry House will also be checked for cleanliness before your event. If you are using both the outside and the inside of The Corry House, we will cut the lawn the day before the event and the barn, porches, and carriage house will be blown the morning of your event.
Are adequate restroom facilities available?
There are three private restrooms available throughout the house, two restrooms in the barn, and an additional two restrooms are located in the carriage house. There are also two restrooms above the carriage house.
Does The Corry House provide tables, chairs, and linens?
The Corry House will provide the following tables and chairs: (13) 60" round tables, (14) 6' rectangular tables, (10) 8' rectangular tables, and 150 chairs. The renter is responsible for the setup and takedown of any additional rented tables and chairs. We do not provide linens. We can provide you a list of recommended vendors who will be able to provide linens, tables and chairs, and any additional items you may need for your event.
Are there dressing/changing rooms available for the bride, groom, and their attendants?
Yes, we have rooms both upstairs and downstairs in The Corry House available for the bride, groom, and their attendants.
What types of kitchen appliances are available?
The Corry House has a standard refrigerator and freezer, stove, oven, microwave, and dishwasher. The barn also has an industrial sink, standard refrigerator and freezer, stove, oven, and microwave.
Does The Corry House have slideshow equipment available for our reception?
Yes, there is a projector and screen available for you to show a slideshow of the bride and groom! You will need to provide your own computer.
Is there a piano available for the ceremony?
There is an electric Yamaha keyboard available for you to use. All other specialty music for your ceremony and reception must be booked separately.
Does The Corry House have a dance floor?
There are hardwood floors inside the house, concrete floors in the barn, and a concrete and brick patio outside the carriage house. All which would serve well for a dance floor.
Is there a designated parking area? Is there adequate parking?
Yes, there is plenty of parking at The Corry House! Our parking area can accommodate all of your guests.
Is there a charge for parking?
No, there is not a charge for parking. However, if you would like valet parking you will be responsible for paying the valets. We can refer you to individuals who will be able to offer valet parking for your guests.
Does The Corry House have outside lights?
Yes! The porch has lights and outside floodlights are located all along the exterior of the house. There are also lights in the trees and framing the patio area beside the house. Additionally, you may add decorative lights for your event.
Is The Corry House pet friendly?
Yes! Everyone at The Corry House loves pets! You are more than welcome to have your furry friend come and share in your special day. If you are bringing a dog, you will also have access to the outdoor dog pen. Dogs are not allowed inside of the house.
Questions About My Event
What all is included in my rental?
Rental of The Corry House includes exclusive use of the main house and its furniture, porch, carriage house, front and back lawns, barn, gazebo, and unlimited parking. We have tables and chairs for 150 which are also included in the rental. The weekend rental of The Corry House also includes the use of our seven bedrooms (sleeps approximately 14 people) for your family and/or bridal party.
How many weddings will be booked on my day?
Yours will be the only one; we dedicate the entire day to you and your wedding!
Do you have a facility director/event coordinator? Will they be there the day of my wedding?
At least two members of The Corry House staff will be there during your event to oversee the house and wedding. Pending availability, we can provide you with someone to assist you with your rehearsal and day of coordination for $250.00. More extensive coordination services are available as well. Can The Corry House be used for both the ceremony and the reception?
You may use the house, barn, and the property for both your wedding and reception. In case of rain, The Corry House property has a beautiful barn or the perfect location for a tent.
How early can I get to The Corry House to setup?
You will have access to The Corry House beginning at 8:00am the day of your event. If you would like access to The Corry House the day before your event, you will have to reserve The Corry House for the weekend.
What time do my guests and the wedding party have to leave The Corry House?
For single day rentals you may not stay past 12:000am. A $150.00 an hour fee will be imposed if you exceed the checkout time without prior approval.
For weekend rentals, you have The Corry House until 10am Sunday morning. However, we must be able to close the barn at midnight. You are welcome to continue your party outside, at the fire pit, or the carriage house.
How much time is allotted for the rehearsal?
The Corry House allots 2 hours for your rehearsal the week of your event. If you are renting for a single day, you are not guaranteed a rehearsal slot the day before your event.
Does the rental fee include rehearsal dinner?
No. The rehearsal is included, but if you would like to have the rehearsal dinner at The Corry House you will need to reserve The Corry House for the weekend.
Who will clean up?
There is a $200 cleaning fee for daily rentals and a $300 cleaning fee for weekend rentals.
Questions Regarding Payment
Is a deposit required? If so, how much?
Yes, a $500.00 deposit is due with your contract. It is refundable if the terms and conditions of your contract have been met.
When is the deposit due to reserve The Corry House?
We will reserve your date for your event once we have received the deposit and contract. The Corry House accepts cash and checks.
When is final payment due?
Your rental fee is due in its entirety three weeks prior to your event. Your deposit will be forfeited and your event canceled if payment is not made three weeks before.
Questions Regarding Vendors
Does The Corry House have on-site catering? Am I required to use certain vendors?
No! One of the best features of The Corry House is that you are free to use your favorite caterer and the vendors of your choice. If you need assistance, we can provide you with a list of qualified and recommended vendors for all your wedding day needs.
Does The Corry House allow us to bring in our own alcohol?
Yes, The Corry House does not sell or serve alcoholic beverages so you may bring in your own. Please see our contract for rules and regulations regarding alcohol. We will also need to have a signed indemnification form on file if you plan on serving alcohol at your event.
Where can photographs be taken?
You will have full access to The Corry House and its property for your photographs. We know your pictures will be beautiful! There are no photography restrictions.
Questions Regarding Décor
Does The Corry House decorate for the holidays?
The Corry House decorates for fall and Christmas and makes every attempt to decorate for other holidays. You are more than welcome to use the holiday decorations at your event.
Does The Corry House allow candles?
Yes, candles are allowed provided that appropriate wax catchers are placed beneath the candles.
Are there restrictions regarding decorations and how they are used?
The Corry House does not allow decorations to be stapled, taped, or tacked to the walls, ceiling or furniture. Other than that, decorate as you wish!
Who is responsible for setting up and taking down the décor?
The renters are responsible for setting up, taking down, and removing any personal decorations.
